PETA, the animal rights group has put up a $5000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any participant in dropping of any turkeys during this years 66th Annual Turkey Trot Festival held in Yellville Arkansas.

In years past, live turkeys were dropped from low flying airplanes, this year organizers say this is no longer sanctioned by the event, but does still happen.

According to the Yellville Chamber Of Commerce, they do not know who is doing this and also added in a statement that the Federal Aviation Administration has also been notified and has strict rules against this.

PETA announced on Wednesday that the reward of $5000.00 was being offered for information during this years festival. This is not the first time PETA has protested this event, in years past turkeys have been dropped from the tops of buildings in the downtown area and other years featured phantom pilots dropping birds to the crowd below.
