On July 07, 2011 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. and the Arkansas State Police arrested Lowell Lawson (08/26/74) of Tuckerman for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (marijuana). The arrest came after officers stopped the vehicle Lawson was driving for running 72 mph in a 55 mph zone near Hoxie. As the officers were speaking with Lawson they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers ran Lawson’s drivers license and he showed to have a warrant from Randolph County. Lawson was placed under arrest for the warrant and was asked if he had any illegal substances. Lawson told the officers that he did indeed have some marijuana with him. Lawson gave the officers three bags of marijuana. Lawson was transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
