Captain Jody Dotson of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department reports that on July 16th the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Clover Bend after a call to 911 was placed claiming a domestic disturbance was occurring at the residence.

The Lawrence County Dispatch Center took the call and dispatched deputies to the residence in Clover Bend. While the deputies were in route a second call came in to the Lawrence County Dispatch Center came in reporting a man had been stabbed at that residence.

When deputies arrived on scene they found Josh McLaughlin at the residence stabbed in the right arm. At this time McLaughlin identified his attacker as Greg “Pete” Moss and stated he was stabbed when he tried to stop Moss from hurting Moss’s estranged wife.

Medic One Ambulance from Walnut Ridge was called to the scene and transported McLaughlin to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Meanwhile the suspect Greg “Pete” Moss had fled the scene with his estranged wife in the vehicle with him. Deputies found the vehicle stuck in the on a field road and abandonded, the suspect took his estranged wife into a wooded area with him.

After a 3 hour search Moss and his wife were located and Moss was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await his bond hearing.

Bond was set Monday at $5000.00 and a Circuit date of August 25th was issued. Moss was charged with Battery in the Second Degree, Assault of a Family Member and Fleeing.
