Painting by Henrietta (Blann) Knight (1969)The Williford Alumni of the 60’s and 70’s met Saturday June 26 starting at 5:00 p.m. at Jenni B’s in Hardy for a fine meal and a great deal of re aquainting with those classmates who could attend then everyone headed for the Old Hardy Gym where they reconvened at 7:00 and enjoyed the rest of the evening looking at all the annuals from those years more visiting and entertainment was provided by Mike McLeod, Sandy (Duncan) Hutcheson, Randy and Lori. In addition there was music on cd’s of the period. There were over 75 in attendance at the gym. A cd sent by Leslie Humble who could not attend read the wills from his class. A time of rememberence was held for those who had passed on with Eugene Rose (1969) and Loretta(Sawyer) Murphy (1969) reading the names. The organizers of the event were Loretta Murphy and Henrietta (Blann) Knight (1969) with help decorating from some of those that came early. Door prizes were given out and refreshments were made available at the gym. Everyone expressed what a good time they had, made promises to keep in touch with thier classmates and to have future reunions. The regular Williford Alumni meeting will be held Sat June 3. from 2-5 pm at the Old Hardy Gym. It is important that as many as can come because since the school has been shut down by the State there is Scholarship funds that some decision must be made about.
