On May 27, 2010 at 3:30 pm the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department arrested Larry Hufford of Walnut Ridge for possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use. The arrest came after a concerned citizen reported that Hufford was involved in the illegal manufacture of meth.
A check of Hufford showed him to be on probation. Hufford’s probation officer was contacted and a home visit was done. At the residence on County Road 438 outside of Walnut Ridge, the officers found the makings of a “shake and bake” lab, meth and items used to ingest meth. Hufford was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing on Friday.

At around 2:00 pm on May 27th the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department arrested Michael Campbell age 19 of Walnut Ridge for sexual indecency with a child and incest. The arrest came after a tip to the child abuse hotline. Campbell was contacted, Mirandized and questioned about the allegations. Campbell told the investigators that the allegations were true and cooperated fully with the investigation. Campbell was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing on Friday.

On May 27, 2010 at 1:30 pm the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kay Huddleston of Pocahontas for fraud to obtain a controlled substance. The arrest came after a local pharmacy in Walnut Ridge called and reported that a fraudulent prescription had been called in for hydrocodone. Deputies set up on the pharmacy and waited for Huddleston. When Huddleston arrived and picked up the illegal prescription deputies placed her under arrest. Huddleston was transported to the Lawrence County Jail. Huddleston told the Investigators that she had been doing this for some time and from several different pharmacies across Northeast AR. Huddleston also stated that she was addicted to Hydrocodone and needed help with her addiction. Huddleston is being held for a bond hearing expected on Friday.
