Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department makes large drug arrest in Imboden

According to Captain Jody Dotson of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department just before 3pm today, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 the LCSO with assistance from the Arkansas State Police and Adult Probation and Parole arrested Wayne “Country” Pittman age 53 and Dianna Cheatham age 44 ,both of Imboden for cultivating a controlled substance (Marijuana), possession of drug paraphernial and possession of a controlled substance (Meth).

The arrest came after the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department received a tip from a concerned citizen that Mr. Pittman was growing marijuana at a residence in Imboden. Pittman’s parole officer was contacted and a home visit was conducted. Arkansas State Police were also contacted to help in the search. Once at the residence the officers found about 20 marijuana plants growing in a vehicle and inside the residence. Officers also found meth as well as syringes.

Pittman and Cheatham were both arrested without incident and transported the the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing tommorrow.
