Local children had the opportunity to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas this year at the Bobbie Jean Memorial Library here in Imboden this Thursday afternoon. Children recieved a ticket at the door and then headed over to sit in Santa’s lap before they moved on to build a Christmas craft. They were assisted by Friends of the Library members in making Christmas mice or using holiday stamps to create cards to hang on their tree at home.
The refreshment table was filled with cookies and soda for children and their families to sample while they enjoyed the community fellowship at the library. Before each child went home they recieved a new book as a gift. 90 books were given out this year and it was a wonderful turn out! The annual Christmas Party is sponsored by the Friends of the Library here in Imboden.
The members of the Friends of the Library served refreshments, donated cookies, drinks, helped with crafts, and also purchase the books that are given away at the party with funds donated during their Pancake Breakfast fund raiser. The books given out to seventh and eighth grade level were donated by Mike and Ann Mcleod of Imboden.
Thanks go out to the “friends” group, those in the community who donated cookies and materials, Laura Hubler the branch librarian, Gene and Terry Ponder and everyone who attended for the huge success of the Christmas party this year.
