Due to last weeks substantial rainfall in Northeast Arkansas, flood waters made many low water bridges in the area impassable. Local schools were closed Friday and local kids were left wondering if they would be able to go trick or treating on Saturday. Just outside of Imboden, Highway 63 was shut down as the water made it’s way over the highway. Finally the rain ceased Friday afternoon and most of the back roads were clear enough to drive over.
There was plenty going on Halloween night in Imboden. With the Halloween block party, the Imboden Church of Christ Trunk or Treat, Sloan Hendrix Student Council passing out candy in the Sloan Hendrix Gymnasium parking lot, and all the area kids out in droves. I saw zombies, ghosts, witches, pirates, and more walking the streets of Imboden to collect candy and show off their costumes. I think there were more little tots out trick or treating than any year I remember in the past. I especially liked the tiny lady pirate and the lion costume.
Laura Hubler hosted a Halloween party for family members Halloween night at her home in Imboden. Those attending were Mike Mcleod, Michelle and Michael Wildrick, Betty Mcglothlin. Buddy, Lisa, Savanah, Catrina, and Clayton Williams. While everyone sat down to visit and watch a scary movie there was a big pot of homemade chili and cornbread , stuffed jalapenos, a cheese/cracker platter, and punch to enjoy. Then rice krispie treats and chocolate chip cookies to snack on later. Thanks to Laura, Michelle, and Betty for providing the goodies.A fun time was had by all!
 Michael Wildrick had just returned from a hunting trip Saturday, where he killed an eight point deer that had a sixteen inch spread with his compound bow at seven yards.
Michael said the deer was three and a half years old and guessed it’s weight at about 160 pounds. Congrats to Michael on bagging such a nice one!
